Dive Testimonials Costa Maya, Guestbook diving Costa Maya, Mahahual

I have known and dove with Selma since meeting her in 2008. Selma works hard to make your diving experience enjoyable and memorable. She knows the sites, has a great rapport with Captain Mario (one of my two favorite captains in the area) and will do her best to make sure you enjoy your time diving the reefs between Majahual and Xcalak.

After diving with her in 2008, I returned to dive with her for 10 days in 2009 (she helped us find a house for our group). We logged over 30 hours of bottom time on that trip and since we can't get enough of the diving in the area, we plan on spending another 10 days diving with her in July of this year.

Since my wife and I own a time share near Puerto Morelos, we have spent many hours under the water in Puerto Morelos, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, Akumal, and Puerto Aventuras. From all the shops and independents we have dove with since 2002, Selma has by far been the best guide we have had.

Give her the opportunity to show you how beautiful the diving is and I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Well we're back from our Caribbean cruise and a day of diving in Costa Maya. Selma did a great job.

Just as she indicated by her emails, she was very accommodating and had everything ready for our arrival in port. She met us outside the cruise port and escorted our taxi to a nearby hotel in Mahahual where she had our boat operator waiting. She loaded all the tanks on board and we set out for the quick 10 minute boat ride to the dive sites. She brought oxygen on board and gave a very good briefing before our first dive.

My daughter had trouble clearing her ears and Selma very patiently and skillfully helped her work her way down for a nice dive. She handled both dives like a drift dive with the boat captain following our bubbles and picking us up without having to double back. Selma led the dives at a relaxed pace often pointing out various animals along the way, such as seven or eight lion fish. The reef in Costa Maya is marked by impressive structures. It has many canyons, cracks and swim throughs.

We had a great time and would recommend Selma and Nomad divers to anyone planing to visit Costa Maya. She offers personalized service and a relaxed, but safe atmosphere. In fact she gave us a private boat for my family of four for just $25 extra.

I am a PADI instructor and have dove with Selma for the last 2 years. As an instructor, when I am not teaching, I have picked up the habit of watching how other instructors interact with students, and other divers, both in, and out of the water.
I have only praise for Selma, I would dive with her anyplace, any time.

She believes in diving a conservative profile, and in Mahahaual there is no need to always dive deep. The sea life between 40 and 80 feet is fantastic.
She is always monitoring her divers for any unusual behavior and has them check their air supply often as the dive progresses.
She has great eyes and is able to find all types of critters in the reef.
She takes things slow and easy, all of my dives with her have been between 50 and 63 minutes.
